What happens during the auto detailing process?
The auto detailing process is a process that focuses on the details. After an interior detail, all of the exciting memories and feelings of when your car was new will come flooding back to you. Our owner Fillip says that moment is the “essence of why I love detailing cars”. An exterior detail will leave your vehicle’s paint protected from the elements, while increasing the shine. Today you’ll find out the process and different levels of auto detailing we offer here in Denver, Colorado. At Mile High Image Detailing, we ensure every inch of details are taken care of to your satisfaction. You will drive away with a better driving experience because of it!
Step One: Clean and Extract
Before any protective layers can be applied, the first step of any auto detail, interior or exterior, is to remove all contaminants from the car. You may be surprised at how the residue of spilled beverage, or dropped piece of food affects the interior of your car. The exterior is protecting you from the elements; and in Denver, Colorado, that is a tough job.
◊ How do you clean and extract the interior of a car?
At Mile High Image Detailing, we bring your car back to new. The first thing we do is a full vacuum of your vehicle, removing large and loosened dirt and debris. Every auto interior detail includes shampooing all carpet or upholstery with a hot water extractor. This hig
h pressure machine loosens any dirt or debris in the fibers of the material, vacuuming them out as they come free. The cleaning mixture, combined with the hot water cleans the fabric left behind, leaving your carpet like new.
We also use a steam cleaner, which kills any remaining bacteria and germs. An interior auto detail at Mile High Image Detailing also includes a steam cleaning of the ventilation system in your vehicle, leaving you with clean air to breathe as you drive.
Have a leather interior? Not to worry, we have the best products to bring your leather seats back to life. No matter the material, the interior of your vehicle will be wiped down in its entirety – including the dashboard!
◊ How do you clean the exterior of a car?
Just like the interior, the first thing to do to clean the exterior of your vehicle is to remove any loose dirt and debris. While anyone can drive through a car wash, the bristles from the brushes are harmful to your vehicle’s clear coat and paint. At Mile High Image Detailing, our monthly maintenance wash is done by hand, then hand dried with plush ultra-soft microfiber towels. In other packages, we use a Foam Cannon to apply our specialty wash to the exterior of your vehicle. Foam washes are more effective than hand washing when the correct blend of pressure, water and cleaner is reached. When applied with the foam cannon, soap will stay on the car longer. This breaks down the dirt and grit on the exterior of your vehicle without using agitation by hand. Results from the foam cannon are preferred over other methods of washing, especially for specialty cars or a yearly exterior auto detail.
The body of your vehicle is not the only area that gets tended to here at Mile High Image Detailing. We take care to wash the wheels and tires of your vehicle by hand as well. One of the most important areas to clean on your vehicle are the glass areas. You look through the windshield as you are driving, and a clean windshield gives you the safest vision possible. All windows and glass surfaces will be wiped down, giving you a sparkling clean sheen on the outside and clear vision on the inside.
Step Two: Protect
◊ How do you protect the interior of your car?
Once the dirt and bacteria have been cleaned and extracted, you have a clean slate to protect when it comes to the interior of your vehicle. It is important to seize this opportunity to enjoy and prolong the life of your car. We apply a layer of protection throughout the interior of your vehicle. Leather is conditioned after cleaning, bringing it back to showroom quality. Carpet, upholstery, plastic mats and other areas are treated with their uniquely specific protection, blocking future spills from becoming a stained mess.
◊ How do you protect the exterior of your car?
There are many ways to protect the exterior of your vehicle. At Mile High Image Detailing, we offer different levels of protection. The correct auto body protection package for you depends on the use and condition of your vehicle. A maintenance wash at Mile High Image Detailing will include dressing on the tires, while an exterior auto detail includes Foam Cannon applied wax. Wax is one of the simplest layers of protection you can add to your vehicle. It should, however, be applied multiple times a year as it is not the most durable option. This is why it is included with our monthly maintenance wash.
Our protection package includes the maintenance wash as the base cleaning of your car. The exterior then has it’s paint decontaminated. This removes any contaminants that get embedded into the vehicle’s auto body exterior like brake dust, tree sap, construction debris, road salt, iron deposits, bugs, or paint overspray. We use clay bar on your car, giving your vehicle the cleanest surface possible to apply a new layer of protection to the exterior of your vehicle. After the clay bar treatment, we apply a paint sealant. Paint sealant is composed of mostly synthetic polymers that bond when placed together. The bond creates a layer of protection over your vehicle’s clear coat, further protecting your paint job on your vehicle. This package gives you protection from the elements of Denver, Colorado (which can be a lot, no matter the season!) for 6 to 8 months.
The Mile High Basic package includes the added layers of protection of a one stage polish, with ceramic coating available. Ceramic coating is a layer of protection that adheres to the clear coat of your vehicle. This silica based liquid polymer hardens into a shell, shielding your vehicle from the contaminants you encounter. Any dirt or debris on your vehicle will easily rinse away with water. A ceramic coating could last you multiple years, depending on your driving conditions and maintenance upkeep as time goes on.
Other protection options for the exterior of your car are paint protection films, or a clear bra. These films are applied to your vehicle, guarding your vehicle from rock chips and other contaminants met while driving. At Mile High Image Detailing, we also offer Modesta coating for the exterior of your vehicle. Modesta is a premier brand of liquid glass coating. These sealants provide ultra protection for your vehicle, some even blocking UV rays. Keep your paint protected from fading, with a shine that is sure to stand out!
Benefits of Auto Detailing
Having your car detailed benefits you in many ways. After an interior auto detail at Mile High Image Detailing, your car will be bacteria and germ free. Any spills can be easily removed or wiped away because of the protection layer applied. The air you breathe during your commute will be cleaner, giving your allergies a break. Leather is conditioned and back to showroom quality. Fabrics are protected not only from the aforementioned stains, but from rips as well. All of the nooks and crannies that you cannot reach will be clean. Having the interior of your vehicle detailed is not only healthy, it brings with it an enjoyment while driving that cannot be matched.
The exterior of your vehicle, especially in Colorado, comes into contact with all kinds of contaminants. From constant construction throughout the booming state, to road salt used during winter weather, contaminants are on a constant attack. When you add the extra layers of protection during an exterior auto detail in Denver, Colorado, you are giving the paint on your vehicle an extra set of tools to defend against the contaminants. The joy that comes with seeing your car shine on the outside isn’t bad, either.
